Tried this place since it was only a couple min from my house. Really nice interior decoration everywhere. I made reservations, and we were seated on time. Waitress was busy, so we sat there for over 10 minutes before she even took our drink order. Another 5+ min before the drinks every came out. I was thirsty and finished mine quickly. Took her 10+ min to get me a refill. Chef finally came out, a little bit of conversation but not much. Show was the most average hibachi show I've ever seen. It's not horrible, but not a single thing special about it. Ordered a meal for myself and my 2 kids (10 & 4) prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY high. Little chicken and rice for my son ($25.50). Oh, and if you want fried rice instead of the included white rice. A substitute would make sense, but NOPE. They charge you $5.50 ADDITIONAL for fried rice PER person and charge it as a "side." Which makes ZERO sense because you don't also get white rice. If you got white rice AND fried rice, that $5.50 additional charge would be justified. I went here as a birthday celebration and that was also uneventful. Want them to sing and give you desert line ANY normal restaurant? That'll be $15. They even have the nerve to put that charge on the menu. The food was okay, the service was okay, the show was okay, the price was $163 for 1 adult, 2 kids, and 2 sodas, not including the tip. If you want a good experience, choose another place. I feel scammed for the amount of money I paid.
My kids and I really enjoyed their first visit here , they gave been talking about it since we went ! Wel all left so incredibly full , the food was delicious, great service as always. We went to celebrate my best friends birthday, because it's her favorite place , for all of the right reasons!
Little pricey but food and service was great. If you come in with six or more people 18% is automatically added onto bill. But if you come in with less people, you're probably sharing a table with others. Food is cooked right in front of you. Chris was very much a people person who cooked our food.
Worth every penny for special occasions. It’s more of an experience, and the food is wonderful and plentiful. We had such a great chef. He was so creative. I’ve never seen anyone do the things he was doing. Life is all about making memories and this is a great place to start.
Love this place and the staff is very good. They had to deal with my food allergies and it was very successful!! We all had fun and it was a wonderful experience! Our chef was amazing!!
My family and I really used to love this place. Every time we go in, it seems like the price for everything has increased by 5-10%, so it’s really pretty spendy now. I wouldn’t mind it as much if the food was really good every time, but it always random on whether or not your food is going to be too salty, or the shrimp tasting kinda funky.
For the price, it should be
The food is always delicious; it is excellent when you have the right chef. This time, the presentation was awful, with no show at all. Really hard to hear and understand our cook. Our server brought our salad late, drinks went to the wrong table, big chubks if egg in our fried rice, really an off night. Sure miss Anthony, and all the "old" chefs that were there before the Tacoma location opened and soon closed.
My husband drives past this place every day going to/from work and has been wanting to try it for a couple years now...and I really wish we had tried it sooner! I won't lie, it doesn't look like much from the outside. But once you go inside, it's crazy how huge the place is and it has amazing Japanese decorations. I'm especially a huge fan of the water feature in the front with the bridge! We had a reservation for an early dinner on Monday night (5:30 for 5 people) and were immediately seated. The waitress took our drink orders within a minute of us sitting down and soon brought out the soup and salad. The chef was out right after that and immediately got things going. The food was delicious and we even ended up ordering more on top of our original meals (hibachi chicken + hibachi steak/shrimp). The "show" was fun and we lucked out with a chef who was talkative and very interactive. Prices were comparable to the handful of other Japanese steakhouses we've been to over the years (think Kanki, Benihana, Nakato, etc) and totally worth it. I really hope to go back!
